Every year PCs get more and more powerful.  But, unless you're into the latest games with the most powerful graphics, or into video editting, you don't need them.  What was top of the range five years ago is usually more than adequate for what a lot people want to do today: communicate by E-mail, write letters now and then, surf the internet, download their digital photographs, print them out, and, perhaps, use a spreadsheet.  You may have some special things that you want to do, but the chances are you don't need the maximum GigaHerz to do it.

So,  an older PC (the one you have now?) is quite good enough for the task. Second-hand PCs are available. They may just need a spring clean or a de-tox.   We can help.
